In June, Edita Group Oyj announced the sale of its subsidiary Edita Prima Oy to PostNord Strålfors, a Nordic communications solution provider. At that time, it was stated that the transaction is subject to the approval of the Finnish Competition and Consumer Authority ("FCCA"). The purchase agreement between Edita Group Oyj and PostNord Strålfors Oy was signed on 9 June 2023.
The FCCA has today announced that it deems it necessary to continue investigating the competitive impacts of the acquisition. Further proceedings may take a maximum of 69 working days, and the Market Court may extend it by a maximum of 46 working days. The FCCA may approve the acquisition as such, attach conditions to the approval, or request that the Finnish Market Court prohibit the acquisition.
”Further proceedings by the FCCA have no impacts on Edita Prima’s business operations. Just like before, the company continues to provide printed and digital customer communications services in close cooperation with its customers.
